IF THE IMPORT PRICE OF AGRICULTURAL MACHINERY IS CHEAPER THAN THE ONE PRODUCE IN INDONESIA, IS IT STILL NECESSARY TO PRODUCY AGRICULTURAL MACHINERY IN INDONESIA ?

Indonesia is an agrarian country that most of the farming population. State of Indonesia is affected agricultural development. IPB founded Ir. Soekarno in 1963 to support the food in the future. Utilization of agricultural equipment and machinery for farmers in Indonesia are still very low, both when prior to harvest to postharvest. Thus, the need to hold trainings for farmers, so they can take advantage of the common agricultural equipment and machinery effectively and efficiently.
According to B.J. Habiebie (1983: 14) there were eight vehicle for the transformation of the priority development of technology, especially technology industry, namely 1) the aircraft, (2) maritime and shipping, (3) transportation, (4) electronics and communications, (5) energy , (6) engineering, (7) tools and agricultural machinery, and (8) defense and security.
Mechanical Engineering and Biosystems mandate: to develop engineering science and its application to the development of models, machinery, and processes related to biological systems in the field of sustainable agriculture and food.
According to the mandate of mechanical engineering and Biosystems and Agricultural Machinery importance for the future even though our farming machinery more expensive than other countries. we should develop innovations that are ready to compete with other countries in quality and price. many tools and agricultural machinery are expensive and not all farmers can use various tools. The government needs help funding and capital for farmers
